Why do we get sick of our favorite songs?

Why do we find songs we love, listen to them repeatedly, but then eventually become sick of them? What dictates this?

<p>That's a good question. I could say its because we get bored. But then you can ask why do we get bored? I believe as humans we have evolved to associate boredom with disgust.
